School systems need better quality education
School systems need better quality education.
I think the school system needs better quality education opportunities for all students. No matter if they are inner-city students or suburban students and no matter if they are special Education students. All children can learn in their own way and should be treated with respect and deserve to get the best education possible. I know some students get through school but cannot read 3rd grade level reading. I think we should have more teachers of quality teaching skills and who know how to teach all types of students. The class rooms need to be smaller with only 20 or less students per classroom. I think it would be good to have Tutors free of charge to the students who need the extra help. I think we should teach our children the importance of learning how to read, stay in school to get a good education and to make positive choices and learn positive communication skills at very young ages as soon as they are in preschool. If we can give the students the tools they need to become successful citizens when they grow up I believe is the key to having less violence, less crimes, less abuses of Drugs and Alcohol, etc. There would be less people in the prisons. I believe if we can educate our children to be the best that they can be that we will all have a better future. Our children are our future. I also believe when we took out the prayer time in the schools that it totally changed the future of the world. Just take a look at the news these days. Back when we had prayer in the schools I don’t ever remember hearing about killings in the schools. Also, back then we had better teachers I believe who really cared and loved the children and cared about if they were going to be successful or not. I think the school system needs lots of help. But I know that it takes more money to do that. I also believe that teachers need to be dedicated and loving and caring people to teach our children. I could have been a child who was left behind myself, but because of a very loving and caring teacher named Mrs. Margaret Hampton who believed in me tutored me after school and that small amount of her time helped mold me into the strong person that I am today. Other wonderful teachers who helped me through school were, Betty McFarland, Fannie Gene Stover, Joann Blair, Betty Gentry and Dawn Mauk. I am still a slower learner but once I learn things I am fully educated on how to do things that I need to accomplish in life. All children do not learn the same way and I am living proof of that.
I had a really bad experience when my son was in high school that I had to take it upon myself to research all of his school records to prove to a local High School that he had enough credits to graduate. I went through alot of Stress to do it. I should never have had to go through what I went through just to make sure that my son was able to graduate. I think the school system should have had the records themselves all in one file no matter how many schools that my son had transferred from. If I was not the kind or parent who loved and cared for my child as much as I do my son would not have graduated when he did. The worst part was that I did not find out until the morning of the graduation ceremony that he was going to graduate so they did not have time to add his name to the program nor did he get senior pictures taken, etc. I did not have time to invite family members so I sat alone in the audience and cried because a Child’s graduation should have been the best time of both the parent’s and the child’s life. Even worse than that the suppose to be Special Education Teacher congratulated my son before he went into the line to march but told him that he still needed 4.5 more credits to actually receive his diploma when I had already proved that my son had actually 6.25 more credits than was even needed to graduate. Therefore, my son was ahead with more credits and not behind at all. Apparently, that teacher had no idea that we had proved that he deserved and has the Right to march with the other students and receive his diploma that night. That teacher’s inconsiderate behavior made my son get so depressed that night that he cried and didn’t even want to march at that point. But I talked my son into going ahead with marching down the isle and to be proud that it was his night even though that teacher did not know nor had any right to tell him that at all. Since this happened to my family I have wondered through the years how many more students that actually had the credits to graduate but didn’t because the schools did not keep up with the school records properly on the students. My son was a Special Education Student who went to Alternative Schools but graduated in the local School District so his Diploma came from the local High School. I worry about how many other students may have been treated this way. This makes me think that maybe the school systems need more people working in Administration to help keep up with better records on the students.
